　　Iodized salt refers to table salt to which iodine compounds have been added. Specifically, a certain proportion of potassium iodate and appropriate stabilizers are incorporated into the salt, making it specially intended for consumption by people living in regions where endemic goiter is prevalent. After iodization, the retail price of the salt remains unchanged, and no additional salt tax is imposed. Most packaged salts labeled with the word "iodine" available on the market are iodized salts. Iodized refined salt is prepared by adding potassium iodate to table salt at a specific ratio (35 mg ± 15 mg of iodine per kilogram).
