First Public Notice of Environmental Impact Assessment Information for the Technical Renovation Project of Additional Brine Wells at the Sote Salt Mining Area, Wanzhou District, Chongqing Sote Salt & Chemical Co., Ltd.

In accordance with the "Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Measures for Public Participation in Environmental Impact Assessment" (Ministry Order No. 4), we are now making public the relevant information on the technical renovation project to add new brine wells at the Suote Salt Chemical Salt Mining Area in Wanzhou District. The details of the public notice are as follows:
I. Project Overview
(1) Project Name: Technical Renovation Project for Adding New Brine Wells at the Sote Salt and Chemical Salt Mine in Wanzhou District
(2) Construction Site: Gaofengchang Rock Salt Mine Mining Area, Chongqing Sote Salt & Chemical Co., Ltd.
(3) Construction nature: Renovation
(4) Project Overview: Given that the currently operating brine wells are nearing the end of their service life, it is necessary to add new brine wells to replace those that have exceeded their operational lifespan. These new wells will serve the company’s existing 1-million-ton vacuum salt production facility. Specifically, a directional horizontal sidetrack well (Well 301) will be drilled within Well Site 204 to connect to the dissolution cavity of Well 208. Additionally, another directional horizontal sidetrack well (Well 302) will be constructed at the newly established Well Site 302, approximately 250 meters south of the wellhead of Well 203, to also connect to the dissolution cavity of Well 208. The combined brine production capacity of the newly constructed Wells 301 and 302 will be about 100 m³/h. Assuming an annual operating time of 8,000 hours, the total annual production capacity will amount to 800,000 m³/year (equivalent to approximately 220,000 tons/year of salt after brine-to-salt conversion).
