Project Name: Green Carbon Capture and Upgrade of the Xiangyu Salt & Alkali Joint Alkali Production Unit

Construction Site: Within the existing premises of Chongqing Xiangyu Salt & Chemical Co., Ltd., in Management Unit IV, Longbao Cluster, Jiulong Park, Wanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone.
Construction Content: The existing combined soda ash plant will undergo an energy-saving and environmentally friendly upgrade and retrofit by adjusting the sub-categories of soda ash products and adding flue gas purification equipment. After the completion of this technical upgrade project, the production process will remain unchanged. The production method used in the soda ash plant is the combined alkali process, under which both soda ash and ammonium chloride are produced (hereinafter referred to as the "combined alkali process"). Following the retrofit, the total capacity for soda ash production will remain unchanged at 1 million tons per year; only the allocation between heavy-grade and light-grade soda ash will be adjusted. Specifically, the annual output of light-grade soda ash will increase by 100,000 tons, while the annual output of heavy-grade soda ash will decrease by 100,000 tons. As a result of the retrofit, the plant’s annual output will be 700,000 tons of light-grade soda ash and 300,000 tons of heavy-grade soda ash.
