Granular ammonium chloride
Category: Ammonium chloride
Product Introduction
It appears as colorless crystals or white granular powder. As a strong electrolyte, it dissolves in water to dissociate into ammonium ions and chloride ions. When ammonia gas reacts with hydrogen chloride to form ammonium chloride, a white smoke is produced. It is odorless, with a salty, cool, and slightly bitter taste. It exhibits low hygroscopicity, yet can still absorb moisture and cake together in damp, rainy weather. Powdered ammonium chloride is extremely hygroscopic—especially in high-quality products. The typical moisture absorption point is around 76%. Once the relative humidity in the air exceeds this absorption point, ammonium chloride begins to absorb moisture and readily cakes together.
